2025 Collines Pinot Noir

A blend of D4V2 from our leased site in Ironbank. Small amounts of whole bunch with whole berry fermented in oak and jarrah from 225l to 1650l. More pumping over due to the ripe year and desire to retain some finesse. Aged in used hogsheads for 12 months.

Deep, soft dark cherry red with faint ruby highlights. Fairly heady nose from the combination of clone and warm year. Offers dark brambly fruits, dried red cherry, blackberry and fruitcake spice/old spice. A dusty dried red earth/ironstone note from the soil. Medium to full for the variety, this heads past the ripe and dried red and dark berries with barely a glance instead showing you its raw iron and sanguine heart before a note of sweet blood orange. Alcohol and tannins delivering that red wine hit with a rich texture finishing with drying tannins at the tip. Nicely balanced fresh acidity tightens the belt just enough to do the button up.
